WHEN TO CALL YOUR PASTOR...

EMERGENCY PASTORAL CARE IS AVAILABLE SEVEN DAYS A WEEK by calling The Church Office
If you or a family member is hospitalized, if you are going through a crisis, or if you need to talk please call this number or the church office at 734-427-1414 so we can support you through visits and prayers. Pastor Dana can bring communion and offer healing prayers and anointing should you desire it. The yellow slip in the Friendship Register is another way of letting your church know about less urgent concerns. Members have Pastor's cell phone number and may call her 24 hours a day if needed in an emergency. You do not need a cell phone to reach Pastor Dana.

WEDDING ...
As you make plans for your wedding, we would like to help you plan a marriage as well. Our pastor would like to spend time helping you prepare for the emotional and spiritual commitment you will be making. We also have a wedding co-ordinator to help make your day special and as worry free as possible.

BAPTISM ...
In Holy Baptism, we are welcomed into the Lord's family. Therefore Baptism takes place in the context of the community gathered at worship, ideally on the festivals that lift up Baptism: The Baptism of Jesus (Second Sunday in January); Easter Vigil, Pentecost (seven weeks after Easter) and All Saints Sunday (first Sunday in November). Please call the church to arrange and plan for a Baptism. Instruction for parents precedes infant Baptism. When adults are baptized, instruction is adapted to the circumstances of the one baptized.

FUNERAL PLANS...
You will need to speak to the Pastor very soon after the loss of a loved one. Details will be made to accommodate your wishes and the wishes of your family, to the best of our ability.
Luncheon - many families request a luncheon following a funeral or memorial service - the church is happy to organize this event, with the help of the Women of the ELCA.
Organist - The office will contact the organist for the service. The family will pay the organist directly. The suggested honorarium for the organist is $100. Memorial gifts the church is happy to take care of memorials given in memory of the loved one. A list of donations and the donors is provided to the family, allowing the family to send notes to the donors. Please call the church office if you have any questions, or if you need Memorial Cards.

WHEN TO CALL THE CHURCH OFFICE
Please advise the church office if you move as soon as possible. Please call the office to advise of any change of address, like a zip code change or if you change your phone number. We must keep our records up to date. Let us know if there is a birth or a death in the family or if anyone is ill and you would like to place them or friend on the prayer list.

HALL RENTAL -The Fellowship Hall is available for members to rent for $75. Please contact Gail in the Church office for complete details.

PASTORAL CARE MINISTRY TEAM
Pastoral Care Ministry Team maintains a list of those in need of prayer for various reasons (illness, death, difficulty, military service, thanksgivings), sends cards, visits those who are sick, in the hospital or nursing homes, and brings communion to the homebound each month. The team also attends monthly training sessions sponsored by the Samaritan Counseling Center, held at Nardin Park Methodist Church, on Sunday afternoons.
